Role: UX Designer

Microsoft prides itself on the people and communities who benefit from the employees who take their time to give back through meaningful programs and individual efforts, and it shows. Microsoft is consistently ranked #1 in Best Corporate Social Responsibility Programs, ahead of Google, Apple, Sony, and Walt Disney, setting the bar for an entire industry.

For this project, Microsoft was looking to significantly update their site to address their expanded offerings, all while following updated brand standards which relied heavily on stock imagery and a tight timeline for press release.

As the lead designer, my approach included:

  • Gap analysis and problem discovery with stakeholders – heuristic evaluation of existing web pages, usability issue reporting, and redesign recommendation briefing.

  • Redesign of key web pages by generating new wireframes to inform visual design and front-end engineering templates.

  • Low-cost validation testing of redesign concepts.

  • Final design presentation and UxD strategy recommendations for future redesign initiatives.

Within the first week of launch, the site received over half million visits with press from around the world.
