UNIVERSITY FINANCE SYSTEM
Role: Interaction Designer
One of the most requested features on UW's financial system, dubbed "MyFD" for "My Financial Desktop", was to enable users to monitor and perform real time reconciliation of transactions as they post to a budget.
I conducted stakeholder interviews and collaborated with the engineering team to identify the best implementation into a legacy sytem (read: not easy) in order to make the reconcilliation system useful. I also designed the UI for how it would appear in MyFD and managed the iterative usability testing to ensure we were creating a usable product. There were lots of moving parts, but in the end it shipped on time and gave us great insights to the items people wanted for their financial systems.
In addition to interface design, I took the lead on taking all the feedback and questions I received during testing and created an instructional website for users with e-learning videos using Adobe Captivate and Techsmith Camtasia.
In this position, I was awarded twice for my contributions in helping the team and product move forward.
